Skills Sharing Network
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008A group of youth drama facilitators and youth theatre leaders have formed a collective who meet every two months at agreed venues throughout the country hosted by different facilitators each time. The idea came about in a discussion that followed the last Leading On….. training session in Dublin, a Voice workshop facilitated by Max Hafler.
The plan is that these sessions will act as a platform for facilitators to pool resources, share skills and network in a supportive environment. It will be an opportunity to try new exercises and approaches in a safe environment where facilitators can benefit from feedback before they implement the work with their groups.
The group have decided not to waste any time and already a session has taken place in Limerick kindly hosted by Fiona Quinn and Co. Limerick Youth Theatre.
New participants are welcome to join and each participant is requested, at their convenience, to host a half day workshop session for the group on a theatre subject of their choice, and also to be willing to arrange the venue for the day’s workshop, if possible. The group are committed to the long-term development of this programme.
The next session will be take place in Roscommon on Monday May 19th.
Time: 11am – 5pm
Workshops: Forum Theatre by Kevin O Connor
Script Analysis by Fiona Quinn.
Anyone interested in joining this group should e-mail Catherine Simon or phone her on 086 874 7024.
We wish them the best of luck with this venture
